New Jersey Police Officer Charged For Assaulting Teen

A New Jersey police officer has been charged  with assault, after being caught on camera attacking a teenage boy.

Police officer Joseph Reiman, who is the brother of Carteret Mayor, Daniel Reiman was chasing a vehicle in Carteret on May 31 when the car crashed.  As the 16 year old teenager  descended from the vehicle, the officer who was clearly angry that he had been forced to engage the teenager in a chase shouted:

“Get on the f***ing ground!” the officer instructed the teen,  as featured in the dash cam video of the incident

The teen obeyed the officer’s orders and went to the ground, but Reiman punched the boy multiple times before climbing on top of youngster and continuing the beating.

“You’re under arrest! Get on the f***ing ground!” the officer said. After sustaining injuries from the assault , the teenager is put in the back of a squad  car and taken to the station. The teenage victim was badly assaulted so much that he needed to be hospitalised. Whilst in hospital, the teenager permitted his friend to photograph his badly injured face.

Reiman was wearing a body camera during the incident, but the camera was not turned on. The charges against Reiman come  a couple of days after Mohammed Noor killed innocent Justine Diamond after she called 911 for police to investigate an alleged sexual assault. Noor and his attorney have provided no explanation his disgraceful conduct, but the timing of these charges against the New Jersey officer is not too bad and shows that at least something- though not enough- is being done about violent American cops who feel they can acts as they please.
