Sporting Fans Chant Disparaging Song Against Boris Johnson At World Darts Championships

By Tony O’Riley

Sports fans across the country are letting Boris Johnson know how they feel with hostile songs and chants as fallout from the No10 Christmas party rows continues. Fans could be heard singing ‘stand up if you hate Boris’ in unison at the 2022 World Darts Championship at a packed Alexandra Palace in north London on Monday evening. A fan in the crowd was spotted holding a sign which read ‘all rounds to Boris’s after’ – reference to the Christmas party rows that continue to rumble on.

Football fans also berated the Uk prime minister at  the Premier League clash between Leeds United and Arsenal on Saturday, the stands were full of fans singing ‘Boris Johnson is a c**t’ repeatedly in videos shared across social media.

The video, which has been viewed more than 750,000 times on Twitter, shows supporters at the Elland Road stadium in Leeds clapping while they chant the explicit words during Leeds’ 4-1 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

Fans were reacting to  recent revelations that another party was held in the Downing Street garden attending by several members of government  including Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie,  Matt Hancock Dominic Cummings, Martin Reynold Secretary. Simon Case quit his role leading the inquiry into a number of alleged gatherings on Friday, after it emerged a quiz was held in his own department that he was aware of and spoke at. The revelation added to already existing anger and disappointment at the government, whose double standards in their handling of the coronavirus has reached boiling point with the British public.

Civil Servant, Simon Case, was originally appointed to investigate the allegations, until it emerged that he himself hosted a quiz at his residence, which he was aware of and held a speech.

Whitehall’s experienced  Sue Gray has been installed in his place to carry out inquiries into three alleged gatherings at Downing Street and the Department for Education in November and December last year, when indoor mixing was banned. The leaks add to the revelation in June that Matt Hancock had an affair with Gina Coladangelo, snogging her in his office, again in breach of coronavirus rules.

During a visit to his Uxbridge constituency today, Mr Johnson insisted the public was more interested in other matters such as coronavirus, and suggested the media reporting on lockdown-busting parties had caused the Tories to lose the North Shropshire by-election.

He told reporters ‘what people have been hearing is just a constant litany of stuff about politics and politicians and stuff that isn’t about them’.

The  general sentiment from the public  is that it does concern them that he instructed them to distance himself from their family numbers who leave it another household, while he and his colleagues wilfully broke the rules they set.

The latest crisis facing the Government is the backlash over a leaked photo which shows the Prime Minister and his wife Carrie sitting at a table with two people while another 13 had bottles of alcohol nearby at a table and on the lawn on Friday May 15, 2020.

Downing Street has refused to apologised for the event, arguing that  it was not a social event, and claimed staff were working in the garden in the afternoon and evening.

Those pictured apparently included some of Mr Johnson’s top team – such as principal private secretary Martin Reynolds, former health secretary Matt Hancock and Dominic Cummings.

It is the latest in a ‘partygate’ row over celebrations inside No 10, with Downing Street accused of holding four parties that broke Covid restrictions last year.

Mr Johnson was forced to order a civil service enquiry, but the civil servant he chose to lead the inquiry quit after it emerged a quiz was held in his own department that he was aware of and spoke at.

Downing Street has now been accused of holding  a total of five parties over lockdown, including a quiz attended by dozens of staff and which the Prime Minister helped to host on December 15 – three days before another Christmas party which is being investigated.

The song was created in 2020 and reached the top five in the Christmas singles chart last year. The song is a British satirical punk rock single by the Kunts, a band created by the dark comedy singer Kunt and the Gang. The track consists entirely of the title of the song being repeated, directed at British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Originally released on the 2020 album Kunts Punk in Your Face, the track was later released as a single, with Kunt campaigning to make the single the 2020 UK Christmas number one. The song reached number five, despite a lack of mainstream media coverage, with the BBC refusing to name either the song or the artist due to the foul language in both. In November 2021, the band announced a sequel, “Boris Johnson Is Still a Fucking Cunt”, campaigning to top the Christmas chart again.

The band that created the song said last year that they are releasing the new song “because Boris Johnson  still behaves as if no one has ever told him that” and “you don’t fell a big tree with one swing of a little chopper”.

They added  that they hope their song will “help voice dissatisfaction with the way [Johnson] conducts himself” and “further undermine his credibility in the media and among his remaining supporters”.

Also, they say, they just want to “ruin his Christmas”.

On 26 November 2021, Kunt announced that he would once again campaign for the Christmas number one, releasing a follow-up to “Boris Johnson Is a Fucking Cunt”, entitled “Boris Johnson Is Still a Fucking Cunt” The song is performed to various tunes, including “Doctorin’ the Tardis” by The Timelords, which in turn samples “Rock and Roll Part II” by Gary Glitter, The Addams Family Theme, and “Personal Jesus” by Depeche Mode, who come from Kunt’s hometown of Basildon. On the day of the announcement a music video was released of the song, which depicts The Kunts as the characters from the film Ghostbusters hunting down Johnson. Kunt has asked people to start buying and streaming the song from 17 December 2021, in order to secure a high chart position.

Ten different versions of the song have been created, including versions by Cassetteboy, Petrol Bastard, Destruction, Rob Manuel and Armogortion, as well as sausage roll-themed safe-for-work versions involving groups such as a local neighbourhood children’s group and a three-year-old named “BabyLad”, parodying LadBaby.

The song was praised by NME, who quipped that while Ed Sheeran, Elton John and LadBaby’s version of “Merry Christmas” should be praised for raising money for charity with their song, the Kunts were “tackling the root cause of the nation’s poverty problem” by dealing with Johnson directly.[20]
